Don French, M.A., LMFT

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has worked with individuals, couples and families in the Metro area for many years. My prior experience includes working with adolescents in residential treatment programs as well as providing support services to the Juvenile Court in conjunction with the Department of Social Services in Louisville, Kentucky. Additionally, my work as a Program Director at Father Maloney’s Boys’ Haven, school guidance counselor and therapist for adolescent and adult intensive outpatient services at Wellstone Regional Hospital, has provided me with the knowledge and skill to provide meaningful personalized care.

I have a strong desire to help individuals, couples and families manage life situations, reduce stress and make well–informed, rational decisions. While maintaining an atmosphere of confidentiality, acceptance and respect, I focus on personal growth, behavioral modification and maximizing an individual’s potential. In an effort to facilitate academic, professional and/or personal growth, I encourage my clients to build upon their strengths and abilities as personal perceptions are examined and obstacles are managed. I have received specialty training in EMDR and offer this alternative approach to assist individuals cope with past traumas that are negatively impacting their mental health.  My specialty training in Marriage and Family Counseling coupled with years of experience working with adolescents, affords me a unique prospective to work with families who are experiencing  difficulties.

Please feel free to contact me, or my office, regarding any questions you may have. I am currently scheduling appointments on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, however I will make every effort to accommodate your individual needs. I hope you will afford me the opportunity to work with you and/or your family to reach your potential.
